Retaining Pins, Double Coil

The Retaining Pin, also known as Spring Cotters, R Pins or Hair Pin Cotters, are easily fitted and removed spring steel wire retention device for shaft mounted items. They rely on their inherent spring force to maintain their installed position inserted diametrically through the shaft, using the materials inherent spring force to prevent unwanted movement.

Double Coil Retaining Pins are a type of retaining pins or ‘R-Pins’ with a double coil, allowing a stronger and more secure hold as the which allows the stress to be spread out more evenly across the pin.

A Double Coil Retaining Pin is preferred when a lanyard or chain needs to be attached as the complete ring form prevents it from being lost. The double coil also provides a more comfortable and therefore safer insertion force.

The double coil allows the Retaining Pin increased elasticity, allowing for a wider size coverage. Pinstructure Double Coil Retaining Pins are available 2mm to 8mm wire diameters, from 8-14mm to 45-56mm suggested shaft size.
