Taper Pins

Our Taper Pins are available in Inch and Metric sizes which are manufactured to different standards and measured slightly differently.

The Metric Taper Pin range is offered to DIN1B and the Inch Taper Pin range is offered to BS46 Part3 Class A. Both size ranges are manufactured with a fine turned finish and are produced from unhardened Mild Steel or 303/1.4305 Stainless Steel.

Measurement:

Metric: The nominal diameter is measured at the small end of the pin and the length is measured along the tapered surface only, the radii at each end are not included in the nominal length measurement.

Inch: The nominal diameter is measured at the large end of the pin and the length is measured along the tapered surface only, the radii at each end are not included in the nominal length measurement.

Non-standard variations include Ground Finish pins to DIN1A, pins measured overall (including the radii at each end) to both ISO2339 and BS5681, BS46 Part 3 Class B in EN3 material, BS46 Part 3 Class C in EN16T material and BS5681 of which the nominal length is measured overall including the radii at each end
